Victoria Model Shipbuilding Society > Power Section

The Victoria Model Shipbuilding Society Power Section: Members can participate in a number of ways in the Power Section.

By building scale models of all types of ships, Military, Commercial, and Recreational. These models may be powered and radio controlled and launched in water or be static for display purpose only. We would like to encourage anyone with an interest in ship modeling and Radio Control vessels to come and join us at our meetings or Harrison Pond. For all Power related activities and questions please email us at power@vmss.ca

Members receive our monthly newsletter (the Binnacle) and access to our library of books, magazines and plans. In addition, members get to meet others with the same hobby to share ideas and exchange knowledge.

Mike Claxton has been busy digging up some really interesting sites for us.

Alan's Boatyard - His "hints & tips" and "links" are worth a look.

Model Tug Forum - For newbie tug modelers to retired skippers and everyone in between.

Model Boat Mayhem - AU.K. site with lots of content

RC Groups Forum - Very large and active forum.

A couple of N.W. tugboat sites......

Campbell Maritime - This fellow runs a towboat business down in Seattle – always something different in the way of photos and his comments.

Fremont Tug Boat - Mark Freeman’s site – another towboat firm in Lake Union – his Blog has some great photos of local stuff (even some of my photos!). Mark’s office is loaded with photos and marine stuff – stopped in one day down there, hard to escape! Great people.
